Brooklyn Sterling is an award-winning journalist who makes her living exposing frauds, crooked politicians, and con-men in the pages of the Boston Globe newspaper. Her latest assignment has her investigating a series of so-called miracles that are happening in the city. A devout atheist who has suffered a hurt and harbors a bitter resentment toward God, Brooklyn is hot on the trail of a man behind the miracles, prepared to lay bare this fraud and reveal the truth; that God, faith, and eternal life are all a childish fiction.
